I had no idea where this story was going when it began, and suddenly it took off like a rocket. And me, I just kept right on reading until I finished it. Do you know what ASL vs. BSL is? I didn't, but I do now. That was a great aspect to have in the book. Don't miss it! Oh, and just a warning, .... don't start until you can read it all the way through, or you might find yourself going to sleep a "little" later than intended.

Fangirl burnt out on drama of fandom sites goes to one last convention to get reclusive star's autograph to complete poster. Series of run ins with said star and his deaf child. Romànce, miscommunication, drama... While there was an HEA, reader was left with questions and felt ending was too abrupt; however, assume it was to lead into next book, next set of characters

Well written enjoyable book. The author explores issues such as fandom and deafness, which makes the story more interesting. I wish it went a little deeper sometimes. For example, the star, Marc, despises fans and Ellie starts explaining to him why tv shows can take such a huge place in someone's life - so I wanted to know what Ellie's story with regards to Destination was. And I wanted to learn more about deaf culture.

It is also hard to believe that the main characters would fall in love and trust each other so much after only 2 days. The events (and characters!) are very intense and I feel a longer time frame would have allowed for more joy or light-heartedness. But all in all, this book is well above average and this author has great potential. I will keep an eye out for the sequel.

It may not be the best book ever, but for a first book I was quite impressed. I have read books from authors that are their 10th or more and they don't have as much development or insight. If this is where this author is starting out from, I can't wait to see where she goes. As to the book itself, i loved the characters and can't wait to see where this series goes from here!!

I loved following both Ellie and Marc as they navigated through the few days the story takes place over. As Marc's back story unfolds throughout the book, I was both empathetic and yet frustrated at times....wanting to yell at him that not all fans are the same! While I also connected with Ellie, and what I imagine it would be like to attend any type of "Con"; meeting like minded people you share a passion for a hobby/interest/etc together with, and then also to "fangirl" about actors of a show that you adore. Nothing seemed too far fetched, as I imagine there are times/places/people that something like parts of this story could happen to. (or has happened to) I also wanted to slap her at times, for her quick judgementalness (not a word but works)...but I think that was a bit of my own "pot/kettle" moments.

At times I worried that I wouldn't be able to follow all the characters, as there are many supporting characters that could launch their own stories. Some would be intriguing, with what any reader knows at this point, while others may become more interesting as the future stories unfold....eventually perhaps even getting their own stories (read cast mates of Marc and best friends of Ellie). I look forward to seeing where the series goes, and following this authors writing.

I will say that I don't remember seeing anything regarding the "steam" level of the story. I would say that this had a medium level, as nothing was too shocking but there are descriptive scenes that some may prefer to not read. While there really isn't a cliff hanger - there is a set up for what I believe the next book must be about, so I'm hopeful that there is a nice transition. This was a quick, fun and entertaining read!

The epilogue should have been a Chapter 1 peek of the next book instead it has turned this book into a serial. Don't self-published authors know the difference between a serial and a book? Don't they realise an epilogue is to tidy everything up in the current book? Right up to the last chapter I was in a happy 4-star rating mind.

The book had good characterisations, and a good plotline. But, oh, that epilogue. I am so miffed...

The writer throws us into the book with rush, rush you feel yourself being pulled into their hectic lives not knowing who these characters are but you soon catch up and the book moves along sadly I was little disappointed at the ending with no teaser for what happens or nothing it is like poof book is done and you are just left wondering what just took place ....Most series will do that to let you know so you are left waiting for the latest one to come out this left you for me not happy even if it said Book 1 ~ maybe it was authors intent to leave you just annoyed ...will see how long it takes second one to come out.......

Buying this book seemed a good idea first because it was about famous movie star meets a nobody and falls for her and I am happy to pass the time reading a modern fairy tale. Second, it was about a fan convention and I know nothing about them. Third, the star had a young, deaf son who reviews said was interesting and it seemed the story might have a different slant.

I struggled on with this less than believable story until just over half way. I wish I hadn't wasted that much time.
