T.A. Dickerson
Born and raised in a small town near a medium sized city in western New York, (nowhere near NY City).
I did well at High School, and wanted to go to college, but realized in time I was completely unprepared financially. I worked a couple of small jobs before getting the call from a major local employer, and started out feeling set for life as a working man.
As an avid reader I read a lot of the Sci-Fi greats (or at least good) of the day, and started thinking outside my worldview. I joined the Army out of a sense of duty, and they gave you those cool field jackets back then, so it was a lock for me.
I saw the great states of Massachusetts, Texas, and two years in Germany. The trip to Germany was a lifetime memory for me, for all the beautiful things I got to see, the places I got to travel to in Europe, and for the mad-cow beef they fed us that keeps me from being able to donate blood still, and for the indefinite future.
I returned to the corporate blue collar treadmill, where I have moved between a few different types of industries, some changes actually being voluntary, even in the middle of the big economic slumps that were hitting the whole country for a while.
It wasn’t until I picked Michael’s book for my Kindle Unlimited subscription that I felt excited enough to want to write again. I had wanted to be a writer since early childhood, and I did really well with my submissions in school, but I didn’t see myself making a living at it, so I went for practical instead of the dream.
Now I’m trying to make up for all the years I let the dream slide, and it’s harder than it looks, but even with setbacks I love it, and I’m hoping to add something to the Kurtherian Universe, most likely the Age of Expansion.
